ARREST ON LINER

MARIPOSA PASSENGER WARRANT FROM SYDNEY SMART DETECTIVE WORK An intending passenger by the liner Mariposa, which left Auckland last evening for San Francisco, waß brought under warrant of arrest from Sydney, shortly before the vessel's departure. The arrest, made by Detective A. Moore, was a particularly smart one. Acting on advice received about an hour before the Mariposa's sailing time, he found the passenger, only on particulars of identification, among more than 400 travellers on the liner. The man will be charged in the Police Court this morning with and an application will be made for his extradition to Australia.
