THE FISHING FLEET
a VESSELS PUT TO SEA After five days in port on account of the rough seas in the Hauraki Gulf, most of Auckland's fishing fleet put to sea early yesterday morning, for their task of replenishing the city's supply of fresh fish. A strong westerly wind, reaching almost gale force at times, has prevented the small craft from operating. Supplies of schnapper from the north have been particularly scarce, but several of the boats returned with good hauls last night, relieving the position.
