CROSSING COLLISION

MIRACULOUS ESCAPE WOMEN AND BABIES UNHURT [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN COI) RESPONDENT] ROTORUA, Friday A small car, driven by Mr. A. H. Jones, sen., of Rotorua, and containing three women passengers and three infants, struck the front of a railway engine which was shunting on the Ranolf Avenue crossing about one o'clock this morning, and capsized in the centre of the road.

Tiio occupants of the car had a miraculous escape. The driver suffered a cut above one eye. The three babies, who were being nursed by their mothers all escaped unhurt. The three women Buffered nothing more serious than a shaking. They were Mrs. M. Jones, Mrs. W.iTollan and Mrs. T. Gallagher, all of Hotorua.
