YOUNG FARMERS' TOUR
PARTY OF 140 MEMBERS 1200 MILES TO BE COVERED COST OF £5/15/- A MAN [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] PALMERSTON NORTH, Wednesday Drawn from a district extending from Rangiwahia in the north to Johnsonville in the south, a party consisting of 140 members of young farmers' clubs of Manawatu and Wairarapa set off from Palmerston North yesterday on a 1200 miles tour, which will embrace the Taranaki, King Country, Waikato and Bay of Plenty districts and also National Park. It is tho biggest tour of its kind ever attempted in New Zealand and a feature of it is tho fact that it is being done at a cost of £5 los a man for 12 days. The commander of the party is Mr. E. W. Barnett, of Halcombe, and he is assisted by Mr. G. S. Robinson, of the Department of Agriculture, who will act as secretary, and Mr. J. B. Chrystall, of Kairanga, who will bo treasurer. The party is travelling in six motor-buses.
