SOCCER GAME

COMING FIXTURES SECOND MATCH WITH NAVY CHATHAM CUP ARRANGEMENTS Arrangements for the second representative match against the Navy on Monday next for Rear-Admiral the Hon. E. K. Drummond's trophy, were discussed at last night's meeting of tlio Control Board of the Auckland Football Association. The South Auckland Association advised that it was unable to send a team to compete for the Flvger Rose Bowl. The fixtures committee reported that, by way of substitution, a pood match should result in the meeting of the Comrades and North Shore third grade intermediate teams, | which had an unpfayed fixture of the first ! round to decide, and the board agreed to this game as (ho curtain-raiser, play to commence at 1.15 p.m. This would provide for a short interval prior to the representative fixture and allow of a performance by the Koyal Marine hand of 11.M.5. Achilles. The extension of entries for the Chatham Cup found two more teams. Thistle and j Abels, added to the two teams already i entered,: Eastern Suburbs and Ponsonhy. j In accordance with a previous resolution to combine Chatham Cup and championship I matches to avoid complete disruption of the I championship competition, the fixtures com- i mittee advised that Ponsonhy and Eastern | Suburbs would meet next Saturday. It was therefore agreed that the match should bo j both a championship and Chatham Cup one. j In respect to (he latter competition 30 ] minutes' extra time is provided for in the j event of a draw at the end of !)() minutes' ! play. It was felt that, if this was neces- | sar.v, the playing of the match as the cur- i tain-raiser at Blandford Park would have a serious effect on the later game. It was j accordingly decided to transfer the match i to Western Springs to commence at 2.301 p.m., and bring the Abels v. Metro-College game from Western Springs to Blandford Park at 1.30 p.m. A letter relative to the recent censuring of the club and the loss of two points on account of ,T Jcpson not fulfilling his representative engagement and yet playing for his club team was received from the Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys' Club. The letter, | which stated that fresh evidence was avail- j able, was not in the nature of an appeal against the judicial committee's decision, and , it was therefore felt that the onus of reopening the case or otherwise, lay with that, com"> ; ttee. to which the letter was forwarded. ; Officials were appointed as follows: — Representative fixture: Auckland v. Navy, Blandford Park, 3 p.m.. Mr. ,T. C. Sibbin. Linesmen: Messrs. S. C. Jones and Navy representative. Third grade intermediate championship: Comrades v. North Shore, Blandford Park 1.15 p.m.. Mr. O. C. Edwards. Linesmen Messrs. Anderson and Marino. The following primary school matches will be played on Tuesday next:—Victoria Park group: Seniors: Napier A v. Bayfield.
