TRANSPORT DIFFICULTIES [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] GISBORXE, Thursday Heavy loads up to 15 tons nre to be taken between Gisborne and the scene of the proposed oil-boring operations at Patutahi, and the problem of transport requires special provision. The transport of some of the heaviest of the loads is to be undertaken by the Railway Department over the old Patutahi section of the railway. Road surfaces will havo to be improved, and bridges will require strengthening. The Cook County Council has decided to give the company permission to use the roads, provided the company pays the cost of additional attention above the ordinary maintenance, and to strengthen bridges, providing the cost to the council is not more than £25.
