TANEATUA-OPOTIKI LINE
SUM FOR WORK SET ASIDE AIR SURVEY PROPOSAL [by telegraph OWN correspondent] OPOTIKI, Thursday The Minister of Lands, the Hon. F. Langstone, stated at a meeting in Opotiki last night, that the Government had set aside a sum to enable the railway from Taneatua to Opotiki to be commenced. Mr. A. G. Hultquist, M.P., asised the Minister to assist him in his efforts to have an air survey made of the country through which the line would pass, so that the best route possible would be decided on. He would be in Wellington in a few days and intended making such a request. Mr. Langstone said he would assist in securing such a survey.
