Mrs. F. J. Christensen, who has been visiting Auckland, has returned to her home in Mar ton. Mrs. N. 11. Jones and Miss Ngaire Jones, of Coronation Road, Epsom, are at the Grand Hotel, Rotorua. Miss Agnes Satchell, of Hamilton, will arrive in Christchurch on Sunday to visit her mother, Mrs. C. Satchell, Weston Road. Mrs. Sydney Worsp, of Whangarei, who has been visiting Auckland, left by motor-car yesterday to spend a week fishing at Rotorua. Miss Mildred Allsop returned to Auckland yesterday by the Rotorua after an eleven months' visit to relatives in England. 3*. The Misses Dulcic and Margery Pank, who recently arrived in Auckland from Sydney on a holiday visit, have left for Rotorua and Wellington. Mrs. G. N. Hunt and Mrs, J. P. Shuttleworth, Wantwood Station, Nelson, arc the guests of Mrs. R. T. Davies, Richmond Downs, Hamilton. Miss Joan Rattray, of Courtville Flats, is leaving to-day by the Monterey to connect with the l)utch liner Nieuw Zeelaml for the East Indies, where she will spend some months in Sumatra and Singapore. Mrs. Norman Tingey and Mrs. Alan Mathieson (Christchurch'), Mrs. J. Holmes (Melbourne), Mrs. R. J. Godby (London), Mrs. A. Rose (Wellington) and Mrs. J. F. Fox (England) are at the Grand Hotel. Dr. Helen Deem (Hamilton), Mrs. J. Sullivan and Mrs. L. H. Labone (AVellington) Mrs. C. J. Salmon (Hawera), Mrs. W. W. McCoy (Duiiedin) and Miss L. L. Hellaby (Nihotupu) are at the Station Hotel. Miss Mary Grierson, Miss Joan Reeves (Kawau), Miss Joyce McCartney, Miss Mary Mandeno, Miss Jocylen jNTiller (Kawakawa) and Miss Eleanor Worsp will spend the week-end in Cambridge to attend the wedding of Miss Rona Lewis. Advice has been received that Dr. Catherine Landreth, a graduate of the Ota< r o School of Home Science, w'ho for the°last two years has occupied a position at the University of Chicago, has been appointed to the position of assistant professor and director of the nursery school at the University of California.
