MONTHLY HOSPITAL LOTTERY

Sir, —In order to meet the heavy burdens of the taxpayer, I suggest the establishment of a monthly lottery for the benefit of the public hospitals. By making the lottery more advantageous than the Australian ones, money would flow in from Australia and other foreign countries instead of being sent out to them. This action would undoubtedly meet with the approval of the hospita 1 boards, the patients and the taxpayers. R. Hoffmann.
