WESTFIELD QUOTATIONS Migh dairy values BEST LEVEL FOR MONTHS Dairy values at tho Westfield weekly stock sale yesterday reached tho highest levels that have been recorded for over 18 months. Not only was the top price substantially higher than recent figures, but the realisations for most lines were considerably firmer. The best realisation was £ls 10s'for a fine type of Jersey-cross cow close to profit. Jerseys made up to £l2 and heifers of the same breed £lO. Shorthorn cows and heifers brought, up to £ll ss. The yarding was average, and bidding was keen from the outset, tlio presence of several buyers from tho country and farmers on milk supply resulting in brisk competition. HAMILTON CATTLE OFFERING A special cattle sale was held at Hamilton by Dalgety and Company, Limited, which reports that, owing no doubt to the great amount of feed in the 'NVaikato, and also the great lotses in sheep experienced locally, quite a number of cattle advertised did not come forward, owners requiring same on. their own farms. A good entry met with quite a good Bale, however, the entry from Ngatuka, Limited of 220 Polled Angus and Hereford steers averaging £9 14s. Bidding was keen all through the sale, it being noticed that rougher sorts sold particularly well. All good sorts of Polled Angus and Hereford cows running with bull also sold well.
