PARNELL'S HARBOUR EVENT Choppy seas driven before rain squalls caused three competitors in a small field to retire from the annual harbour race conducted by the Parnell Swimming Club on Saturday. The race, which concludes the club's season, was from the Orakei Wharf sheds to the Parnell Baths, the distance being V/ A miles. The placings, with gross times, were as follows: —J. Locke (Waitemata), 36m 10s, 1; P. Mathieson (Waitemata), 30m 2s, 2; A. Pasc.oe (Waitemata), 20m 48s, 3; W. Jarvis (Parnell),, 3 lin Is, 4; L. Cainplin (Parnell), 46m 15s, 5. Pascoe gained fastest time.
