CANADIAN DECISION 200 NEW AEROPLANES FOUR MORE DESTROYERS ARMOURED CAR REGIMENTS By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright VANCOUVER, April 20 The purchase for defence purpose of 200 aeroplanes and four deat'/oyers, raising the latter to six, was announced to-day by Mr. Lan Mackenzie, Canadian Minister of National Defence. The personnel of the Air Force will be doubled to 3500. Four minesweepers are under construction. Priority will be given to the Pacific coastline. The militia will be completely reorganised with the addition of four armoured car regiments, 26 machinegun battalions and six tank corps. Summer training arrangements for 50,000 men complete the defence -policy. This is stated to bo an historic evolution of Canada's external policy, which now. demands that there bo no commitments for war except through Parliament. Advance commitments are definitely excluded.
