LOAN WITHOUT POLL The • Birkenhead Borough Council is to raise by loan without a poll the sum of £BOOO needed to complete the sewerage installation, and £4OOO for s advances to ratepayers requiring assistance to finance connections with., the system. At a special meeting of the council, the position was explained to the objectors by the Mayor, Mr. E. J. Osborne. A resolution was unanimously carried bv the objectors present accepting the explanation as entirely satisfactory, and withdrawing their opposition to the raising of the loans by special order in lieu of taking a poll.
