CLOSE OF THE SEASON FINAL COMBINED EVENTS DECLARATION OF HANDICAPS The yachting season in Auckland will bo officially closed to-morrow afternoon, when harbour and cruising races will be held under the control 'of the Auckland Yacht and Motor-Boat Association. All races will start off King's Wharf, the starting line being between tho tower and a buoy moored north. A flag will also be placed on the wharf in line with tho tower, and the outer starting mark, which should give the competitors a better idea of the actual starting line. The clubs taking part in tho racing are as follows:—Eoyal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, Royal Akarana Yacht Club, Ponsonby, Richmond and Victoria Cruising Clubs, Devonport and Tamaki Yacht Clubs and tho Takapuna Boating Club. "With the exception of tho .Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, which will hold a cruising raco for keol yachts and a harbour raco for class M, all clubs will take part in combined cruising and harbour racos. The destination for tho cruising events is Islington Bay. The courso for mullet boats, keel yachts (other than Squadron boats) and launches is from King's Wharf, direct to Islington Bay, finishing between the motor-yacht Linda and markboat, observing Sandspit beacon, Bean Rock lighthouse and beacon off Kangitoto Island, near Islington Bay. Tho destination for the Squadron kool yachts will bo docidcd to-morrow morning. All the 18ft and under classes will compete over the association's usual harbour course. Two rounds will be sailed in all classes with the exception of Z, which will sail once round only. Tho Sandspit beacon, Resolution buoy and outer mark off King's Wharf must bo kept on starboard, but in tho event of the course being reversed the marks must be kept on port hand. Tho direction of tho course to be sailed will bo denoted by flags —whito signifying Sandspit and black Resolution. The three-flag system of starting will be used in tho combined clubs' races, and the Squadron keel yachts will be sent away under the Yacht Racing Association's usual method. The starting times for all classes are as follows: —Naval whalers, 1.45 p.m.; motorboats, 2 p.m.; Squadron keel yachts, 2.20 p.m.; combined clubs' keel yachts (all classos), 2.30 p.m.; H and I classes, 2.38 p.m.; L and N. classes, 2.46 p.m.; Z class, 2.54 p.m.; M class, 3.2 p.m.; V class, 3.10 p.m.; S class, 3.18 p.m.; T and X classes, 3.26 p.m.; Y class, 8.84 p.m. Tho following handicaps have been declared by the various clubs taking part in the racing:— PONSONBY CRUISING CLUB
