ASSOCIATION GAME
OPENING OF SEASON TWO SENIOR GRADE MATCHES > PONSONBY TO PLAY THISTLE Tile Soccer season will be officially opened at Blandford Park to-morrow with two senior games, which, should provide good football. The park is in perfect order and the playing area true. Thistle, which will meet Ponsonby, won the championship last season, and there is very little difference in the side, which has always provided a sound exhibition. Ponsonby has several new players, including some from Home, and should provide strong opposition. The early match between Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys "and Metro-College will find two teams of youth blended with experience and should provide a fast and thrilling exhibition. At North Shore the home side will play Comrades. With both clubs having promoted juniors a fast and even contest should result. Y.M.C.A. will travel to St. Hellers Bay, where the Eastern Suburbs team appears to bo a strong proposition. However, Y.M.C.A. has a well-blended side. &nd may succeed. At Onehunga the home side will oppose Abels, which has lost several of its more prominent players. Onehunga has several new faces and also some promoted Juniors, and is always a hard side to beat at home. Tollowing are the teams: — ONEHUNGA First Division. —Lloyd, Low, Webster, Simpson, R. Lindsay, J. Hitchen, M. Lindsay, Wallace, Henderson, lorrcster, Chatham. Second Division.—McDermott, D. \vallace, Capcl. Grant. Harlick. McGhio, Douglas, Brass, Woods. L. Phillips, W. Phillips.
