BAKERS' HOLIDAYS

Sir, —After reading your article in Thursday's Herald on "pirate" bakers, I must admit that the position to-day for a baker is rather a difficult one. I am a baker with a shop within a block of shops, each one selling bread at all hours on such holidays as Easter Monday, etc. I close my shop, but I have to put up with standing by while shops on all sides of me sell bread on these holidays. Until the manufacture, delivery and selling of bread in any way is prohibited on the award holidays, the result will always end in a disastrous waste. Not a Pirate.
