REGISTRAR RETIRES
TRIBUTE FROM THE STAFF Tributes to the outstanding service rendered by Mr. Frank Evans, registrar of births, deaths and marriages nt Auckland, who retired on superannuation yesterday, were paid at a stall farewell in the afternoon. In presenting .Mr. Evans with a set of pipes on behalf of the staff, .Mr. J. H. V. Carr referred to the happy associations of Mr. Evans with the staff and the office and extended to him and Mrs. ICvans the staff's best wishes for the future. Mr. Evans in reply thanked the start' for the loyalty and co-operation he had alwavs received from them.
