COUNTRY STOCK SALES

FBANKTON QUOTATIONS FULL YARDING OF SHEEP READY SALE FOR VEALERS [from our owx cokrkspoxdent] HAMILTON, Tuesday A full yarding of sheep, with prices for prime quality lots on a par with last week's quotations, came forward at the Frankton stock sales to-day. Fat ewes, however, showed a slight decline in value, with fat lambs in steady demand. There was a full entry of all classes of cattle with the exception of ox beef, which came forward in small numbers only, with competition firm at late rates. A good yarding of cow and heifer beef included a fair proportion of finished cattle, but bidding was not as keen as anticipated and values generally were easier. A good yarding of vealers met with a ready sale at firm rates, while boner cows and potter bulls sold in advance of schedule rates. The advertised entry of store cattle came forward, but bidding was not as brisk as anticipated, although in the majority of instances vendors met the market. There was again an extra heavy yarding of fat pigs with baconcrs in keen demand, whilo porkers realised late rates. A larger yarding of stores and weaners was also penned, prices remaining on a par with retent quotations. The auctioneers quote:—
