RIFLE SHOOTING
THE RANGITAIKI CLUB [nY TELEGRAPH —OWN WHAKATANE, Wednesday A strong southerly wind was blowing when tho Rangitaiki Riflo Club fired the first competition for Mr. h. Da vies' trophy. It was the strongest wind experienced since the Bay of 'Plenty Shield shoot three years ago, and the markers had great difficulty in keeping tho targets straight. In spite of.this some cood scores were put on. Tho conditions were 10 shots at tho 500 and 000 yards ranges. Following are the scores:—W. R. Beale. fiOOvdS. 47; (iOOyds, 44; handicap 0, total 100; J.
