AUCKLAND BRANCH SATISFACTORY PROGRESS REPORT TO MONTHLY MEETING That tlie work of the Auckland branch of the Plunket Society was being well maintained was reported at the monthly meeting of the committee! held at Plunket headquarters yesterday morning. The president, .Mrs. J. C. Allan, presided. Prior to the commencement of business reference was made to the death of the founder of the society, Sir Trubv King, a resolution stating that while mourning the severing of the link with its founder, the Auckland branch placed on record its gratitude for so great a life given in selfless service for humanity. Sympathy was extended to Miss Mary Trtiby Ring and other relatives. The, report of the charge nurse stated that in the pre-natal department 53 expectant mothers had been seen for the first time, 211 return visits had been paid to the department and 220 expectant mothers were under supervision. In the post-natal section 140 new baby cases had been seen, 1067 visits had been paid to homes and 7276 mothers and babies had visited the various offices. Work at Karitane The report of the Trubv King Karitane Hospital for the past month was presented by tlie matron, Miss I. E. Hunt, who stated that 17 mothers and 25 babies had been admitted during the month. All departments had been busy. Donations for the furnishing fund had been received from various branches, the sum amounting to £22. For the general fund the sum of 10 guineas had been received. Three new members, Mrs. G. A. Hardloy, Mrs. A. Bennett and Mrs. Kerr, were welcomed and leave of absence was granted to Mrs. G. S. Lintott, Mrs. R. G. Milligan and Mrs. Alan St. Clair Brown. Miss M. J. C'olegrove, who returned recently from England, was welcomed. In the absence of "the honorary secretary, Miss Barbara George, who will leave shortly for England, each member of the executive wilT act as secretary for a period of two months.
