WAIKATO POWER SALES

FURTHER INCREASE 'NOTED [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Wednesday An increase in the sales of electricity by-the Central Waikato Electric-Power Board of £7398 during tho period from April 1, 1937, to January 31, 1938, as compared with the corresponding term last year, was reported by the secretary,' Mr. H. J. Beeche, at a meeting of the board yesterday. Over the period in 1936-37, the returns were £55,794, while in 1937-38 tho amount increased to £63,192. The enginoer-manager, Mr. J. It. Ellis, said there was now a total of 6063 consumers. "Tho sales look good but, of course, our spending has increased," observed tho chairman, Mr. T. Hinton.
