SWIMMING IN BRISBANE
Brisbane is promised two, perhaps three, modern swimming pools, costing not less than £20,000. With a population exceeding 300,000. a longer period of hot weather and distant beaches, Brisbane has needed more pools, says a Melbourne writer, The one at Boorandabin, where all the big carnivals arc held, and three other smaller ones, had to meet, tho needs of swimmers. One will be part of a Luna Park which is to be established about three miles from the city proper on the way to Clayfield It will he open air and tiled, with accommodation for 5000. Olympic standards will ho followed in its construction. Another oil similar type will be established at a suitable site in South Brisbane. It is intended to have them ready for next summer.
