THREE MILES RACE

V SCRATCH MEN WEAKEN GOOD EFFORT BY MIDDLETON The three miles A grade race had every promise of providing a fine Bpcc tacle, the scratch riders being A: G. Patrick, R. S. Triner, R. T. Taylor, three Empire Games representatives, J. F. Archer and A. J. Mclnnarney. However, after several fast laps by Taylor and Patrick the pace of the five dwindled to such an extent that J. L. Middleton and R. H. Waterman, two long-markoi-s, were able, by a splendid display of mutual pacing, to gain slightly on the scratch riders.
