ELLERSLIE HORSES
STRETTO'S LAMENESS MUNDANE RESUMES WORK BILLY BOY LOOKING WELL After galloping a good five furlongs 011 Saturday morning Stretto was displaying signs of lameness. She was not present at the track yesterday and her Thompson Handicap engagement appears doubtful. Tho promising Acre—Unison filly Mundane has mndo a reappearance on the tracks at Ellorslie and looks particularly well after a let-up. le Hai, who has an engagement in the sprint event at the forthcoming Ohinemuri meeting, has been getting through his preparation in fine style and has never looked better. To Hai, who is under E. Manson's charge, has not been asked to race since competing at the Whangarei meeting in November. Tho steeplechaser Billy Boy looks remarkably well and has been working nicely. Present intentions are that ho will contest the McGuire Steeplechase at the Ohinemuri meeting at Paeroa on Thursday week. bait made a forward showing in tho I'ranklin Cup last Saturday and, as this was his first outing since Christmas, he should be improved with the race, lybalt figures on the minimum in the Ohinemuri Cup and should be worthy of consideration.
