GENERAL ELECTION
NEW PLYMOUTH SEAT TWO LABOUR NOMINEES [by telegbaph—OWN cobbespondent] NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday The Labour Party's candidate for the New Plymouth seat at the general election will be either Mr. F. L. Frost, of Auckland, or Mr. C. J. Duggan, a member of the New Plymouth Labour Representation Committee. The final choice will bo made by the committee after the two nominees hare addressed meetings of unionists at New Plymouth and Waitara. Mr. Frost, who was then a resident of Hastings, contested the seat at the last election when there were five candidates. Mr. S. G. Smith, who will be the National Party candidate again, beat Mr. Frost by a small margin. BAY OF ISLANDS SEAT INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE [by telegbaph OWN cobbespondent] WHANG AKEI, Tuesday In view of the unanimous invitation by a meeting of electors at Ohaeawai yesterday representative of practically all districts in the Bay of Islands electorate, Mr. W. Brown has agreed to accept nomination as an Independent candidate at the next general election.
