DEATH WHILE BATHING
FATALITY AT FRENCH BAY YOUNG WOMAN'S COLLAPSE A fatality occurred at French Bay, Titirangi, on Saturday afternoou when M iss May Balle, aged 21, of Pukekohe, collapsed while in the water. Miss Balle, who was a nurse employed by Mr. W. F. Bull, Canadian Trade Commissioner, who lives at Park Road, Titirangi, had entered the water with two children of Mr. Bull's and had remained with them in the shallow part of the beach for about two hours.
The girl was then seen to fall forward on her face in 2ft. of water and she was brought ashore by Mr. Bull and Constable N. Lean, the latter immediately applying artificial respiration. Dr. B. Warnock, of Avondale, who was called, found, however, that Miss Balle was dead. ....
