LATER CLOSING HOUR

HOTELS IN TASMANIA Legislation has been passed in Tasmania to alter the trading hours of hotels from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and 10 o'clock closing is now in practice in all parts of the State. It was freely admitted that no Government had been able effectively to carry out the provisions of the 6 o'clock closing legislation, and the new measure provides for the strict enforcement of the 10 p.m. limit.
