VETERAN POLICE SERGEANT

[by telegraph —OWN correspondent] HAWERA. Friday Sergeant J. Henry, who has resigned from the Police Force after 42 years service, 18 of Which were spent in Hawera, was presented with an oa clock bv Mr. J. Edmonson, on behalf of the Hawera branch of the faranaki Law Society. Reference was made to the sterling manner in which Sergea Henry had carried out his duties. Mr Edmonson referred to his part.ciation in the 'Rua expedition in 1916 and Jn ; selection for special duty on the Boji» tour of 1001-2.
