PALESTINE MURDER

ARREST OF A VILLAGER ROVING BANDS IN REGION JERUSALEM, Jan. 11 Subsequent to the murder of Mr. J. L. Starkey a pursuit by police dogs led to the arrest at Kharas of a villager whose home contained a revolver and ammunition.

Recently sabotage and shooting have broken out in the neighbourhood of Hebron resulting in 40 supernumerary police being, sent to the city. The attempt of the authorities to collect £2700 for their upkeep resulted in a strike last week, after which some of the inhabitants abandoned the city and formed roving bands, of one of which Mr. Starkey is believed to have been a victim.
