Auckland was discussed. at the last meeting of the Whangarei Cricket ' Association man- & agement committee. It was felt that the ■ association had been lax in failing to notify the Auckland Association of its withdrawal, although it was recognised that the assembling of sides for many representative fixtures at the holiday period created considerable difficulty. The meeting decided : to in- % form the Country Week committee of the circumstances, and not to undertako participation in representative fixtures at holiday times without arranging for managers to . control the sides. v , A Whangarei senior team will play Northern Wairoa at Dargaville on January 23, another fixture being between a Whangarei senior B team and Northern Wairoa juniors. A full day's play in tho senior competition will be held on January 20, unless A a Dargaville Shield match is arranged for that date with Bay of Islands.
