FRANKLIN RATES
IMPROVED PAYMENT [from our own* correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Monda.v Reporting to to-dav's meeting of the Franklin County Council, the county clerk, Mr. Alan P. Day, stated that £9160 of the current year's rates had now been received. This was £2335 more than the corresponding figure for last year. Further heavy payments are expected by Thursday next, when the period for the 5 per cent rebate ends. The total amount payable this year is £57,298.
