SLASHED BY RAZOR
ATTACK ON A YOTJTH SEVERE WOUND ON FACE ESCAPE OF ASSAILANT Holding a handkerchief to his face to stauch a wound believed to have been inflicted by a razor, a young man walked into the St. John Ambulance Station in Rutland Street at about 10.30 on Saturday night. He was Colin Honey, aged 17 years, residing with his pareirts in Wellington Street, City, and was accompanied by another young man, with whom he had spent the evening at a city picture theatre. The injured youth and his companion left the theatre a few minutes before the conclusion of the programme and were followed into Queen's Arcade by two other men, who were strangers to them. Although full information had not been obtained by the police last night it appears that the two youths became involved in a dispute with the men, whom, it is thought, one of them accidentally bumped when leaving the theatre. The affair culminated in one of the strangers drawing what appeared . to be a blade razor, with which he j inflicted a long gash on one side of i the young man's face. The assailant j and his companion then disappeared. The victim of the attack was brought ! to the ambulance station by his friend j and the police were summoned while j his wound was dressed. He was later taken to the Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance and after the insertion of stitches in the wound was able to proceed home.
