ASSAULT WITH KNIFE
PRISON FOR A SEAMAN [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] ; WELLINGTON, Saturday "I don't like men who use knives, and I am going to give you seven days," said Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., to John Hcnrv O'Brien, aged 5.3, a seaman, who was charged with assaulting Michael Coy ye. "Tlse your fists. That is another matter. But when you start with knives that is not playing the game, and you know it," added the magistrate. Coyne, in evidence, said he was seated in a billiards room when accused came up and struck him twice in the face. He then produced a knife and witness had h' s hand cut in warding off a -blow. A constable who was called in said accused had st big pocket knife in his possession and was drunk. On n charge of drunkenness O'Brien was convicted and discharged. *
