AET UNION PRIZE HAMILTON BUSINESS MAN CAMBRIDGE FLORIST'S SUCCESS [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday "I do not know yet what I shall do •with the money, as during a busy period such us this there is not time to make plans. However, as I am fully occupied with my work I will not be able to leave Hamilton," said Mr. B. Palmer, manager of the Hamilton branch of Price's, Limited, tailor., who was the winner of the first'prize of £2OOO in tho "My Lucky Spin" art union drawn on Friday evening. Mr. Palmer adopted the nom-de-plumo "Budge." Mr. Palmer was at his shop on Friday evening when he received the first notification of his success from a friend over the telephone. The ticket was bought at a sweets shop in Victoria Street. This is the third time during the last few months that tho first prize in an art union has come to the Waikato. A Pukeroro resident was successful early this year, while in the last draw Te Kowhai held the winning ticket. Hamilton had not taken the £2OOO for 10 years. The first and second art unions conducted in New Zealand were both won by Hamilton residents. The winner of the third prize, £2OO, in the "My Lucky Spin" art union, Mr. George Martin, is an old resident of Cambridge with a florist's business in Victoria Street. He has not previously won a prize in an art union, but on the other hand it is only during the last four months that he has bought art union tickets regularly. Mr. Martin is married, with no family. He purchased his ticket at a store which has in the past sold several minor prizewinning tickets. HOLDER OF £SOO TICKET DEPENDENT ON SUSTENANCE [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCII, Saturday The winner of the second prize, of £SOO, in the "My Lucky Spin" art union is Mr. William Mosdell. who for a long period during th*> last six years has been living at the Salvation Army Men's Home. He is 60 vears of ace. and for some time past sustenance payments have been his only income. Sir. Mosdell heard the glad tidings last evening at the home and early this morning set out to verify the authenticity of the ticket which be held. The ticket was sold by a seller known as "Lucky .Toe," Mr. .T. Cutler, who has now sold tickets which have won three first prizes, one second and one third.
