HERACLES CLASS RECORD MACHINE IN A STORM British Wireless RUGBY. Dec. 9 With the journey of ' the Imperial Airways liner, Horatius, from Croydon to Paris, the total of 250,000 passengers carried by Heracles class liners was reached. This fleet of Handlev-Page craft will shortly be superseded by Aeroplanes of higher speed. No passenger in any of the Heracles class air liners has suffered injury. A hail-storm, accompanied by lightning, forced down the Horatius on the flight from Paris to Croydon. The aeroplane landed at Lympne, where an inspection revealed that a flash had burned a rent 2ft. long in one wing. The passengers, who included Miss Ellen Wilkinson, M.P., returning from Spain, continued the journey to London by train.
FLIGHT TO PANAMA
AMERICAN NAVAL MACHINES
COLON. Dec. 9
One of the greatest naval non-stop, mass flights ever attempted was successfully completed when 14 new bombers, with a personnel numbering 98, arrived at Colon from San Diego, California. The journey of 3080 miles was made in 21 hours 30 minutes.
