FAMOUS AIRWOMAN
DEATH IN FRANCE MLLE.SUZANNE DE LA MEURTHE (Received November 30, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, Nov. 29 The death has occurred of Mile. Suzanne Deutsch de la Meurthe, famous French airwoman, after whom the Deutsch de la Meurthe aviation prize is named. Among the 193.5 awards of the Legion of Honour the name of Mile. Suzanne Deutsch de la Meurthe figured prominently. One of the foremost personalities iu the aviation world, she was probably best known to the general public in connection with the race which takes her name and for which each year she presented the cup. As a result of her initiative the French Aero Club was able to organise the Coupe Deutsch de la Meurthe every year for the past five years, and much valuable experience has been gained. Her activities, however, have not been restricted to this race alone, and owing to her generosity a great deal has been done in France for the- development of civil aviation. Mile. Deutsch de la Meurthe was a vice-president of the Aeroclub de France, president of the Club Roland Garros and president of the Aeroclub de l'Aisne.
