PAYMENTS IN ROTORUA [BV TELEGRAPH —CfWN CORRESPONDENT] ROTORUA, Thursday A very satisfactory position regarding the payment of rates for the current year was disclosed in the financial statement presented to the Rotorua Uorough Council-at its meeting last evening. ,-To"' date an amount of has been received by the -borough treasurer, representing 64 per cent of the rates struck, against 43 per cent paid at the same date last J ear. From these figures it is anticipated that at the end of the financial year at least per cent of the rates struck will be paid, compared with 60 per cent at the close of the last financial year.
