GOLD MINERS' LUCK
£19,000 IN NINE MONTHS
PROSPECTING IN AUSTRALIA
Yet another example of the wonderful prizes that are occasionally won by the gold prospector is reported from Dumisville, about 10 miles north of the oncefamous Coolgardio, Western Australia. In nine months two prospectors, Messrs. H. W. Wis bey and 10. T. Norton, secured 2192 ounces of gold worth about £18.970, from 41 tons of ore. Tho men first struck a rich leader two feet below the surface, and 12 tons of stone was crushed for a yield of 6.'12 ounces, in April they crushed eight tons for 1140 ounces, and late in September 21 tons gave them 420 ounces. The gold came from an oblong pipe leader (12in. by 4in.) which had been followed to a deptii of 50 feet. The Wealth of Nations mine at Dunnsville created a sensation by its richness in the early days of tho Coolgardio goldfield.
