WALTER BROMLEY MOVE BY TRADES COUNCIL EXCLUSION FROM CONFERENCES [BY TELEGRAPH— ASSOCIATION"] "WELLINGTON Wednesday A resolution recommending the National Executive of the New Zealand Federation of Labour to refuse to take part in any camesence at ■which Mr. Walter ig representing tho Government *was adopted at a recent meeting cif Iths Wellington Trades Council. No reason was given for the decision. Interviewed to-night, Mt\ Bromley said ho was not aware of the decision or what might, bo tho reason behind it. As far as ho could recollect he had not had any dealings with the Wellington Trades Council for two years.
Mr. Bromley is attached to the Employment Division of the Department of Labour. He was formerly deputychairman of the Unemployment Board. Previously he was a trades union secretary and assistant-secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party, the Hon. W. Nash at that time being secretary. The report was referred this evening to both the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, and the Minister of Labour, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong. Mr. Savage said he had seen the report in a newspaper, but he and his colleagues had bigger things -to do than to concern themselves with individuals. As far as he knew the matter had not been brought officially before the Government.
'"So far as I know." said Mr. Armstrong. "every man in the Labour Department is doing his job. That is all that concerns me."
