TELEPHONE SUBSCRIBERS
INCREASE IN NUMBERS
1 lie steady increase in the numbers of telephone subscribers, throughout New Zealand has created several records during recent months. Information received irom the Director-General ol the Post anil holograph Department shows that tho September gain of B.'SO subscribers has been exceeded only twice in the history of the service. These occasions were in July of this year, when the gain was B~i, and in October. liJ.'iG, when the total reached .900. Subscribers served by the Dominion exchanges now number 142,872.
