Mr. F. S. Cobb, shipping manager for Dalgety and Company, Limited, at MePbourne, arrived at Auckland yesterdav with Mrs. Cobb by the Mariposa from Sydney on a holiday tour of New Zealand.
Captain Montague Policy, who has resided in Auckland for the past seven years, is returning to England, and \vill leave by the Rangitane on Thursdav for London, accompanied by Mrs. Policy.

Mr. A. Clark, who has beer assistant traffic manager of the Railway Department at Christchurch since 1931, has been appointed district traffic manager at Dunedin, in succession to Mr. H. L. Gibson, who is retiring.
Mr. E. L. Rutledge, general manage).in New Zealand for the Fox Film Corporation, returned yesterday by thu Mariposa from a business visit to Sydney. He left for Wellington by ths limited express last night.
Mr. L. E. Gielgud, Under-Secretary General of the International League of Red Cross Societies, arrived at Auckland by the Mariposa from Sydney yesterday in order to make a tour of New Zealand on behalf of the league. He is at the Grand Hotel and is accompanied by Mrs. Gielgud.
Dr. S. Cowen, lecturer in medicine at the University of Melbourne, was a through passenger for San Francisco by the Mariposa from Sydney yesterday. He was recently appointed censor-in-chief to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and hopes to obtain the alliance of the American College o( Physicians.
Mr. W. H. Cocker was appointed by the Auckland University College Council at its meeting yesterday as one of its representatives on the New Zealand University Senate in place of Mr. Kenneth Mackenzie, who recently resigned his seat. The council decided to record its appreciation of the valuable work done by Mr. Mackenzie during his term of office.
