NUMEROUS APPLICANTS ' Thirty-six applications have been received for tho position of registrar at the Auckland University College, according to a report presented at yesterday's meeting of the college council. Tho position has been rendered vacant owing to the resignation of Mr. M. R. O'Shea, who left to take up tho position of general secretary to the New Zealand Manufacturers' Association. The applications were referred to tho finance committee for consideration and after the number lias been reduced to approximately six, the applicants will bo interviewed by the council. The final selection will bo mado at a special meeting of tho council on a date yet to be arranged.
