FOOTBALL DISPUTE
ITALIANS IN PARIS AN UNSUPPORTED PROTEST PAKIS, Augrust 29: The exigencies of football again upset Italians when a team from Hungary unexpectedly beat them I—o ih the semi-final of the Soccer University games tournament. Italy protested on the grounds that the referee, who was supposed to be a Czechoslovak, was actually a Hungarian. The Football Commission over-ruled the protest, because it was not lodged before the match. Italy, therefore, refused to meet Latvia to decide third place and the tournament ended with the placed teams as follows: Germany 1, Hungary 2, and Latvia 3.
