Dix, Royal New Zealand Air Force, Wigram, who has been detailed for a special course of training in the Royal Air Force, will leave for England by the Rotorua today. Mr. J. Thorn, M.P. for Thames, Mr. M. Y. Young, assistant chief inspector of fisheries, and Mr. E. Sheed, of the Department of Industries and Commerce, who comprise the Fisheries Investigation Committee, are at the Royal Hotel. Sir James Steel-Maitland, of Havelock North, who has been'on a business visit to Australia for the past month, arrived from Sydney by the Niagara yesterday en. route to Toronto, London and Germany. He expects to return to New Zealand in November. Mr. D. A. Bull, a director of the Boots Pure Drug Company, Limited, and Mr. H. Cook, a district manager for the company in England, arrived from Sydney by the Niagara yesterday. They are on their way home after ■ spending a year , in Australia. Mr. G. H. Maddex, an actuary attached to the staff of the United Kingdom Government's Actuary's Department. is expected to arrive in Auckland by the Mataroa on August 12. He will consult with the Government actuary on proposed health insurance and superannuation schemes. Dr. C._ J. Rolls, one of the founders of the New Zealand Bible Training Institute, returned to Auckland by the . Niagara from Sydney yesterday after spending six months on a lecturing tour throughout Australia in the interests of the Sudan Interior Mission. He will leave again for Sydney in about six weeks' time, having accepted the position of dean of the Missionarv and Bible College, Croydon, near Sydney.
