TWO FULL SHIPS

MARIPOSA AND ROTORUA LARGE PASSENGER LISTS Carrying 689 passengers on the voyage out, the Matson liner Mariposa was a full ship when she arrived at Auckland yesterday. Passengers had to be refused at Sfin Francisco and, although 150 were landed at Honolulu, a further 75 embarked. When she left for Sydney last night, accommodation was again fully taxed as 200 passengers were picked up at Auckland. An unusual feature of shipping activities at this period of the year is also evident in the fact that the New Zealand Shipping Company's Rotorua will also be a full ship when she leaves Auckland for London on Tuesday. She is to carry 150 passengers.
