BABY UNDER TRAM
CAUGHT BY SAFETY DEVICE
A child of two, Margaret Cotton, had a remarkable escape from death in Sydney the other afternoon when she was struck bv a tramcar. She was not in-
jured. The child broke away from her mother and ran directly in front of a moving tram. The driver was unable to stop the vehicle before it struck the girl and she disappeared under it. _ Spectators who ran up found her sitting in the automatic safetv device. She was taken to St. Vincent's" Hospital. A doctor found that she had not boon injured and she went home apparently quite unconcerned by her experience.
