ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

WORK OF PUTARURU BRANCH [from our own correspondent] , PUTARUKU, Wednesday A successful year's work was reviewed at the first annual meeting of the Putaruru branch of the St. John Ambulance Association. Dr. G. Camp'bell MacDiarmid, the surgeon superintendent, presided. Since the association was founded last year, brigades had been formed in Putaruru and Arapuni, and these had been giving very valuable service, the report stated. Over 150 cases had been treated on football fields alone in the district. The total of cases attended to amounted to well over 2000 for the year.

The balance-sheet disclosed a satisfactory position. The sum of £lO had been devoted to equipment, and there "was still £3 6s 6(1 on hand.
