ST. HELIERS BUSES
Sir,—As a resident of Mission Bay for many years L add my strong protest to the proposal to take over the service. Without a doubt, it is the most efficient one in Auckland and the drivers and personnel generally the most courteous I have encountered. I, like many others, am completely baffled as to the genuine reasons for the service being taken out of Mr. Key's hands, lie the suggestion of trolley buses. It seems ridiculous in the extreme. In the first place, Tamaki Drive is definitely not a fair test for this type of bus as it is about the only flat run in Auckland of its length and the average run in the city area is very hilly. The Point Resolution run is a good examp.le of a typical circuit. Also, our district is open to violent easterly gales and I, for one, don't relish the thought of a "double-decker" rounding the Kohi point—or any one of the other exposed points—in a "howling easterly!
