JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS REPRESENTATIVE GATHERING [3Y TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] MORRINSVILLE, Monday Old scholars and former teachers assembled in large numbers 011 Saturday to celebrate the diamond jubilee of the Morrinsville School, which was opened in June, 18<7, with a roll of 12 pupils. To-day the roll numbers are 430 primary and 100 at high school. Mr. F. .A. Pickett, president of the Morrinsville Old Pupils' Association, welcomed the visitors and reviewed the progress of the school, which had grown from one room to over 20. having been enlarged about eight times. On Saturday evening 360 were present at the diamond jubilee dinner held in the Civic Theatre. Two of the original scholars, Clara and Caroline Cochrane, were among those present. Among the former teachers present were: —Mrs. Craig, of Hamilton, who. as Miss Roberts, was head teacher in 1893-5; Mrs. H. M. Corbett, of Te Aroha, formerly Miss Murray; .Airs. F. M. Strange, of Mangaiti (Miss Butcher); Mrs. Houghton, of Auckland; Mrs. R. Hill, of Morrinsville (Miss Comer); Mrs. Taylor, of Hamilton (Miss Warren); Mrs. R. B. Morton, of Morrinsville (Miss Skeats); Mrs. J. H. Bain, of Morrinsville (Miss O'Brien); Mrs. D. Dodd, of Morrinsville (Miss Skinner); Mrs. S. Thomas, of Morrinsville (Miss Wilson); Mrs. J. W. Brown, of Morrinsville (Miss Clarke); Mrs. 31. Anderson (Miss Bradley); and Mr. 1). R. F. Campbell, of Morrinsville, headmaster from 1890 to 1928. The toast list for the evening was as follows: —The King; "The Old School." the Mayor, .Air. W. T. Osborne —Mr. D. R. V. Campbell, former headmaster; " The Present School," Mr. L. W. Osborne, secretary of the school committee —Mr. L. K. Pole, headmaster since 1928; " Past and Present Teachers," Mr. J. H. Gaddes. chairman of the school committee —Mrs. C. S. Wood, of Pirongia, former first primary assistant, and Mr. E. W. MasBey, first secondary assistant; " The Old Pupils' Association," Mr. N. D. Clifford—Mr. F. A.
