STRICKLAND'S IMPROVEMENT FURTHER BOUTS IN SIGHT [fiiom ouk own correspondent] X LONDON, May 15 Maurice Strickland, tho New Zealand heavy-weight boxer, wishes to return to London and meet Tommy Farr just to show us how greatly ho has improved through his last two fights in America," writes James Butlor in the Daily Herald. "Wo have recovered from tho shock," declared his manager. Mr. W. Daly, "when Strickland, Barnes and Joo Connolly wore knocked out in one evening at Chicago Stadium. Tho performance put the troupe in bad, but Strickland has made great progress and today is regarded as one of the best heavy-weights that has invaded New York and Chicago." Mr. Daly said he had received an offer by cable from Hrrringay for a match with either Jim Wilde or Larry Gains, but that he was more than anxious to get Strickland into the ring with Tommy Farr for tho latter's Empire title. He considered that Strickland would beat Farr and nualify for an attempt at the world heavyweight title in the United States.
